Smokers may remember graphic warning labels on cigarette packs better than text-only labels.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania had 200 smokers view either a standard text-only label with the surgeon general's warning about smoking, or a similar label with a graphic image.
Afterward, smokers could better recall the information on the label with the image.
Studies are underway to determine whether the images lead to any long-term recall.
