Solvang is getting into the arctic Holiday spirit this year, joining other communites up and down the Central Coast.
From Friday, December 6th through Sunday, December 8th, you can ice skate among the lights of downtown Solvang Park for the first year ever. "Solvang on Ice" is all part of Solvang's Julefest celebration.
Time Magazine called Solvang one of the most "Christmassy" towns in America a couple of years back and the community wants to celebrate that title.
You can preserve memories of the inaugural ice skating rink with a Photo-booth featuring a vintage air-stream trailer, with both candid ice skating rink shots and photo booth photo-strips, available for purchase. Santa will be available for photos in the photo booth on Friday, December 6th from 10:00AM to 5:00PM, Saturday, December 7th from 12:00PM to 5:00PM and Sunday, December 8th from 10:00AM to 5:00PM.
The rink will be open daily December 6th, 7th and 8th with the first session at 9:00 in the morning, and the last session at 9:00 p.m. each day. Each session is 40 minutes of skating. Tickets $9.00 for children 12 and under, and $12.00 for children 13 and up. Tickets include skate time and ice skates.
