There are a few reasons temperatures will drop a few degrees.

For one, some reformation of the night and morning marine cloud cover takes some energy out of the system as the sun first has to burn it off before it starts to warm the air near the ground. The temperatures inland are string to stand in great contrast to coastal temps which forms an inversion which can make marine clouds easier to form and slower to clear.

I also expect winds to pick up the next few afternoons. Friday we will see 60s at beaches with 70s in coastal valleys and 90s inland, about 3-5 degrees cooler for Saturday.

Looking ahead to Wednesday (July 4th) I expect we'll see some night and morning low clouds near the coast but clear inland. I am cautiously optimistic about fireworks displays .
