ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. - The St. Joseph baseball team handled Arroyo Grande its first PAC-7 loss of the season on Wednesday with an 11-9 victory over the Eagles.
The Knights (6-7, 4-4 PAC-7) grabbed an early 3-0 lead on a Walker Armstrong bases clearing double in the top of the first inning.
The Eagles (8-6, 4-1 PAC-7) had a quick answer though. Arroyo Grande pounded out seven hits and six runs in the bottom half of the first inning. Robbie Silva smashed a two RBI double to draw the game even and Joey De La Rosa added a two run double of his own. Grant Alton added an RBI single later in the inning.
The victory for St. Joseph evens their three game series with Arroyo Grande. The two teams meet again in St. Joseph on Saturday.
