Too much standing during pregnancy could affect the growth of a developing fetus.

In a new study of more than 4,000 expectant moms, researchers found that women in jobs requiring long periods of standing, like sales or childcare, had babies with smaller heads at birth, indicating a slower growth rate.

The results were the same for women who worked more than 40 hours a week during their third trimester.

However, working up to 36 weeks of pregnancy had no harmful impact on the development of babies.
