State workers with SEIU Local 1000 will gather at movie theaters across the state tonight to protest "The Expendables." Gov. Schwarzenegger has a brief cameo in the movie, and workers say they will send the message that they are not "expendable." The protests come as the governor tries to reimpose furloughs as a way to balance the budget.
Protests are expected in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Deigo, Sacramento, Fresno, Salinas, Paso Robles, Ventura, Salinas and Simi Valley.
Here on the Central Coast, people will gather from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Park Cinemas 9 in Paso Robles. That is located at 1100 Pine Street, off 11th and Spring.
We will have a crew on scene to bring you more on this story throughout the night on ksby.com, and be sure to tune in tonight at 5 and 6.
