Growers in Santa Barbara County produced more than $344 million worth of strawberries in 2009, making it the year's top crop. Broccoli and wine grapes placed second and third.
The information came from the county agricultural commissioner's annual crop report. The entire county topped over $1.2 billion dollars in 2009, its highest total ever. The report also shows about a nine percent increase in the value of total crop production from 2008.
Santa Barbara County ranked 14th for agricultural production out of the state's 58 counties.
