Staying safe in snake country

With Labor Day fast-approaching, many people are expected to get out and enjoy what's left of summer this weekend. However as people head outdoors in the warmer months, so do rattlesnakes.

The California Poison Control Center says rattlesnakes account for more than 800 bites each year, within one to two deaths. Most bites occur between April and October.

But there are several steps you can take to prevent and treat a snake bite.
