TEMPLETON, Calif. - After turning the Templeton High girls basketball program around and leading the team to a Los Padres League title this past season, Mari Stewart committed to continue her career at West Virginia Wesleyan University.
Stewart averaged nearly 22 points and 17 rebounds for the Eagles during her senior season and chose to play collegiately for the Bobcats because she will have playing time as a freshman.
Stewart is coming into a situation similar to when she started at Templeton as a freshman. West Virginia Wesleyan is coming of a 2-25 season and the Bobcats did not win a single game in the Mountain East Conference.
