The national spring signing period started with a splash at St.Joseph High School.
Girl's water polo star Chelsey Gillespie inked a letter of intent to the University of Pacific. Chelsey was a four year varsity player for the Knights.
This past season, she scored 90 goals and set program single-season records with 62 assists and 114 steals. She graduates as the school's career leader in goals (195), shot percentage (52.7%), assists (157)and steals (231).
Chelsey thanked her parents, sister, coaches and teammates for helping her reach her ultimate goal. "This is all just truly a dream come true. Everything I worked for, everything I worked toward is just coming true. It's a really, really surreal feeling. I can't even begin to describe it," said Gillespie.
Chelsey said she chose UOP over Cal State Bakersfield.
She became the eleventh member of St.Joe's class of 2010 to sign a letter of intent, adding to the school record.
