Compared to the holiday week weather, this week will be a much different proposition. Clouds have already been sluggish to clear near the coast and conditions Tuesday will be similar. Highs will only make it into the low to mid 60s.
Wednesday morning a cold front associated with a strong winter storm system will approach the coast. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are possible, especially near the coast. Strong south winds are in the forecast as well, up to 40mph.
Rain .50-1.0" near the coast with lower totals inland are expected. Some south facing slopes could see rain totals exceed 1". As the system is generally warm, local snow levels are not a concern.
Thursday and Friday look partly to mostly cloudy, a very minor chance of showers is possible however I am keeping it out of the on-air product for now.
Saturday clouds increase again and Sunday rainfall looks likely again with another .50-1" possible. However stay tuned as to the weekend system strength as we will likely refine that forecast as the event draws near.
