The recent storms sank part of Highway 135. Motorists are being detoured down San Antonio Road to Highway 1 to get around the closure. Caltrans says the highway collapsed Friday afternoon after a culvert or drainage pipe under the roadway collapsed, causing the road to give way. The estimate on road repairs will take two to three weeks. Only the northbound side of the highway is currently closed, but for those coming from Lompoc or Los Alamos, the closure means a seven mile detour.
