Strawberry industry to be celebrated at event Wednesday

Santa Barbara County's top agricultural industry is to be recognized at a dinner Wednesday night.
It's for the 20th annual Strawberry Industry Recognition Dinner at the Santa Maria Fairpark.
Organizers say the event is all about celebrating the strawberry industry, its workers and the industry's contributions to the Santa Maria Valley. Several people and companies will be receiving special recognition at the event, including:
- Supervisor / Manager: Guillermo Maldonado, DB Specialty Farms
- Sales Association: Central West Produce / G & S Farms
- Cooler: California Giant
- Grower (under 50 acres): Robert DeBernardi, DeBernardi Bros
- Grower (50 acres or more): Fidel Sandoval, Los Padres Berry Farms
This year's dinner is hosted by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
