While too much stress can lead to a whole host of health problems, a little stress may actually be good for you.
Using lab rats, Stanford researchers tracked key immune cells that fire in response to minor, short-term stress.
They enter the bloodstream much like troops readying for battle.
Doctors hope this can someday lead to treatments to improve patients' recovery from serious wounds.
