Strong weekend storm expected to start Friday night

Tonight, you can expect mostly cloudy skies with lows in the 40s and a slight chance of rain. We'll also see northwest winds at 10 to 20 mph in the evening.

Friday, those mostly cloudy conditions will continue with a slight chance of rain. Expect highs from the mid 60s at low elevations to the mid 50s to around 60 at high elevations. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph in the afternoon.

From Friday night through Sunday, a strong winter storm will bring significant rain and snow to the area as well as gusty winds and even the possibility of thunderstorms. There's a chance of scattered showers on Sunday and a slight chance some showers could linger on Monday. Then, a high pressure system is expected to bring warmer and dryer temperatures from Tuesday through the end of next week.
