Some Santa Maria students will get a fly-by lesson in aviation careers Monday.

Santa Maria's Valley Christian Academy is hosting its Aviation Career Day, and some military pilots plan to drop-in for the event. A helicopter is expected to land at the school Monday afternoon, followed by a fly-by of an F-18 aircraft.

All 900 Valley Christian students will get the chance to see the helicopter up-close, after a short patriotic ceremony.
