A Cal Poly student vanishes without a trace, now his fellow classmates are joining the search effort.
Students hit the streets of San Luis Obispo Thursday night to raise awareness about the Cal Poly junior's disappearance.
Twenty-year-old Charles Tamae was last seen on Monday at 1 p.m.
He was reported missing by one of his roommates on Wednesday.
He is 5'8" tall with black hair and brown eyes, and is from the Santa Monica area.
His roommate and classmate say he missed a major presentation Thursday, and that is causing more concern on campus.
Dozens of students gathered on campus Thursday night to join the search for 20-year-old Charles Tamae.
They scoured the city, posting flyers on bus stations and nearby housing units.
Tamae's classmate Clair Fliesler passed out flyers at Farmer's Market.
Earlier in the day she said she knew something was wrong when he did not show up for class.
"He's always there, he's always at class, he's always there after class, same on the weekends when we're in studio," Fliesler said.
The Cal Poly junior is a Landscape Architecture major who often stayed on campus overnight working on class projects.
However his roommate says he has never been away this long.
"If he's not there and he's not at home then I have absolutely no idea," said Harrison Luce, one of Tamae's roommates. "He doesn't have a car so like where else could he possibly be?"
Tamae's black beach cruiser is also missing, along with his backpack and laptop.
So as students continue spreading the word on foot, and by phone, those close to Tamae say they just want him home.
"I'm really hoping that it's something that has to do with stress, something like that, instead of something more serious," said Luce.
Students have also set up a Facebook page to help spread information.
A detective from the San Luis Obispo Police Department says it will resume searching from the air and on the ground Friday morning.
