Beer consumption in the U.S. has fallen for the third straight year.

That's according to the lobbying group "The Beer Institute," which says consumption has fallen by as much as 11 percent in some states since 2008.

Despite the drop, Americans still have a taste for the foamy beverage drinking some 6.3 billion gallons last year alone.

That turns out to be just over 28 gallons a year for every American of legal age.

The states with the lowest and highest per-capita consumption, Utah and New Hampshire.
