A new study ranks San Luis Obispo County 13th in a list of the healthiest counties in California, with Santa Barbara County not far behind at 19th.
The national study released Tuesday was conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It measures factors such as adult smoking and obesity, excessive drinking and the rate of motor vehicle deaths, as well as the quality of clinical care and the ease of access to doctors.
According to the study, the healthiest county in California is Marin County, followed by Santa Clara and San Benito counties.
