It's countdown time as back-to-school is just around the corner. One local organization wants to help parents kick the school year off right, but it needs donations.
United Way of Northern Santa Barbara county brings back its "Stuff the Bus" program for the second year in a row.
"Every year we collect school supplies for the children and the school districts. This particular weekend, coming up Saturday and Sunday, it's with Lompoc Unified School District, Wal-Mart and members of the Chamber of Commerce in Lompoc," said Eddie Taylor, CEO of United Way of Northern Santa Barbara County.
Last year, the event was so successful it collected $13,000 worth of new supplies and distributed to 11 schools in Lompoc.
The event begins on Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Lompoc Wal-Mart in and ends on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
