Sugar can ease pain of vaccinations

Just a spoonful of sugar could help your baby's shot hurt less.

A new study found babies did not cry for as long after a vaccination when they were given drops of a sugar solution shortly before the injection.

Researchers say the sugar may trigger the release of chemicals that help with pain relief, or the taste may induce feelings of comfort in young children.
