The days are already getting shorter, but there is still plenty of summer fun to be had. Atascadero's Saturday in the Park Summer 2013 Concert Series run through Saturday, August 10th.
This Saturday, August 3rd, "The Jammies" take center stage. The Jammies play a wide variety of styles including, Classic Rock, Funk, Reggae, & Blues. They say they like to play "EDGEY COVERS". I don't know what that means exactly, but they do play music you like to get up and dance too. For people of a certain generation (mine), think high-school prom 20-30 years later. It's fun.
Band members David and Brian have been in a few bands together over the last 17 years. Mark Schiesl plays his guitar riffs over the top to get the party on the dance floor. Dave Robinson is the Funky bass man and lead vocals. Brian Freeman is the drummer. On Saturday, look for a special guest performance by Leah Robinson with her soulful gutsy vocals. She sings Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, Chaka Khan, and Gwen Stephani hits.
The concerts are free for the community and you are encouraged to bring a blanket, low-back chair, and your family to relish the warm summer evenings. Pacific Harvest Catering is back with barbecue available for purchase.
