Summer officially began at 4:09pm today as the sun was directly over the tropic of Cancer for the longest day of the year. Local weather sure felt like summer inland with Paso Robles hitting 97 for a high. However beach conditions were grey and cool.
Under the clouds the Salinan Tribe held the annual solstice ceremony at Morro Rock with drums and a hike up The Rock. Access to The Rock is limited to special such occasions for the tribe.
