Sunrise on the Central Coast: Another reason there's No Place Like Home

We got a fairly dramatic blast of Fall weather yesterday, and you know what's right around the corner...the end of Daylight Saving Time. That makes right now a perfect time to take advantage of one of my favorite things to be found right in our own backyard. And when you do, you'll find more awesome proof, There's No Place Like Home.
Long before the buzz of traffic along Highway 101, or mad dashes off to school or work, there is an amazing serenity to be found just beforehand.
It's when the sun begins to make it's presence known. First there is a glow over the mountains that the sun seems to be climbing. Then a bit of activity from the birds that have been hunkered down overnight.
They seem more eager to seize the day than I often am, yet I find comical comfort in seeing proof I am clearly not alone in my hesitancy to get out of bed and start the day too quickly.
It is a show of mother nature, that even on a foggy day is spectacular.
And just before the sun crests the horizon, it whispers its arrival with psychedelic glow of pink and purple hues.
And then just like that, is is a new day. Relections of color become magical rivers of diamonds on bodies of water. A golden hue take over. The world awakes.
Don't waste any time dollin' up in the morning. Roll out of bed, grab a cup of coffee and come as you are. Mother Nature doesn't care what you look like, and trust me, nobody's going to be looking at you.
Because the show that happens this time of day is spectacular. And different each day. And if you get yourself out of bed to catch it, you'll likely be incredibly grateful you did. Because the show doesn't get much better than it does right in our own backyard.
