A high-speed chase that reached speeds of nearly 90 miles per hour has ended with a man in custody after officers say he got out of his truck and ran into the Santa Maria Police Station.

The California Highway Patrol started to pursue the white Chevy truck in San Luis Obispo just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

The truck headed southbound on Hwy 101 and was nearly stopped when the CHP put down a spike strip at the Los Berros Road and Hwy 101 intersection in Arroyo Grande.

The suspect then continued into Santa Maria, eventually driving to the Santa Maria Police Department and running into the station, where he sat down.

The suspect was then arrested and taken into custody.

There were no reports of any injuries or crashes. The CHP has not released the identification of the driver.
