Two days after a high-speed chase in Atascadero, a man who police say was involved in the pursuit was taken into custody.
Monday around 2:50 a.m., Atascadero police tried to stop a vehicle for a vehicle code violation, but the driver took off, leading them on a pursuit out of Atascadero on Highway 41 East, according to police.
Police say they stopped the chase near Highway 58 after their vehicle went off the road and stopped working.
The officers were not injured, but they were unable to stop the vehicle.
A follow-up investigation was conducted and police say they served several search warrants and seized the vehicle they believed was involved in the pursuit.
Thursday morning, they arrested Joshua James Kelly, 34, from Creston.
He was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail and faces charge of evading a peace officer and reckless driving.
