Suspect shot by police after robbery in Grover Beach

A robbery suspect is in jail after leading officers on a wild search in Grover Beach.

Officers say they were called to the Kautz Chevron on the 1200 blk. of W. Grand Ave at about 1:30a.m. Friday, on report of an armed robbery. Officers say when they arrived, they saw the suspect running away from the business and toward a trailer park on the 1300 blk. of W. Grand Ave. Multiple agencies set up a perimeter around the trailer park and began searching for the man based on the description from people at the Chevron station.

The suspect was located, and officers say they ordered him to comply but he did not. The suspect was then shot by an officer from the Grover Beach Police Department. The suspect was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for treatment.

The suspect was then identified as 24-year-old David Jordon Griffin. Griffin was arrested on robbery, kidnapping and attempted homicide charges. He's booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
