Suspected groper strikes again in Santa Maria

Santa Maria police say a suspected groper has struck again.

Police say the latest assault was reported Wednesday morning and happened near North Railroad Avenue and Creston Street in Santa Maria.

Police say the attacker has the same description as the man in other assaults.

They say he was riding a dark-colored bicycle and wearing a hoodie when he rode and grabbed a woman from behind.

"It's very important that you report it as soon as possible so we can get officers on scene immediately so we can have as many units that are available to get up there to where it's occuring," says Sgt. Chris Nartatez with the Santa Maria Police Department.

Police say 12 incidents have happened in the past several months.
