The San Luis Obispo County Regional SWAT team has surrounded a house in Arroyo Grande and think the man inside is tied to an armed assault.
Police and the SWAT team have been at the house on Creekview Court since 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. But they haven't made contact with the man.
Arroyo Grande Police Chief Steve Annibali says officers went to the home Tuesday night when they were looking for a suspect of an assault with a deadly weapon.
But, the swat team couldn't get into the house because they didn't have a search warrant.
They got a search warrant Wednesday and went back to the house.
They've tried to reach the man inside by phone and bullhorn, but have not gotten any response.
Officers are moving neighbors to and from their homes nearby.
Chief Annibali says he can't talk about the prior history of the suspect, but the history makes this a delicate situation.
