Teacher accused of possession child porn, attempts suicide

SAN DIEGO (AP) - A San Diego teacher charged with possessing child pornography has tried to commit suicide in his prison cell.
U-T San Diego (http://bit.ly/10GRqnl ) says 39-year-old Timothy Hensley tried to kill himself Monday at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in San Diego.
His cellmate, Ricardo Escobedo, tells the newspaper that he found Hensley hanging from a bar in the cell. The inmate says he got Hensley down and tried to resuscitate him before he was taken to a hospital.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Omar Castillo confirmed the suicide attempt on Thursday but didn't immediately have details.
Hensley taught at Bell Middle School in Paradise Hills. He was arrested on Jan. 15 and held without bail.
