A Cayucos teenager is accused in a string of robberies in Morro Bay, including the armed robbery of a bank on Wednesday.
Founders Bank on Morro Bay Boulevard was robbed just before 4:30 p.m. The suspect got away with some cash after entering the bank with a handgun tucked into his waistband and demanding money.
Morro Bay police tracked down the suspect's vehicle and took the 17-year-old into custody. They say they found a loaded handgun in his vehicle, along with money stolen from the bank.
Investigators also suspect the teen is responsible for the robberies of a cigarette store and liquor store in Morro Bay on October 23 and November 2.
Police have not ruled out the possibility that a second person was involved in the robberies. They are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 549-STOP.
