Students at Righetti High School in Santa Maria were showcasing their artistic talents during the school's 6th annual Chalk Festival. Around 100 students participated in the event, which featured some colorful masterpieces

For a lot of kids, this is what keeps them coming to school because this is something that they care about, that they're good at, that means something to them," said Righetti Art Teacher Autumn Jennings.

She says the artists are often mobbed by students during passing periods talking to them about their artwork. About 20 panels were on display and students had to tryout to participate.
