A low pressure system will push into the Pacific NW later Thursday increasing the NW winds in the afternoon to 15 to 25mph, this will help usher cooler air further inland also helping to mix out the stubborn marine layer in the afternoon closer to the coast.
The cooling is likely welcome inland as Wednesday's highs in northern SLO county were in the upper 90s. Only upper 80s are expected inland on Thursday with a blend of 60s and 70s closer to the coast.
Down the road, Friday looks to feature even more wind with coastal areas seeing winds as high as 30mph in the afternoon. Weekend looks generally mild with highs in the lower 60s at beaches with upper 60s and low 70s in coastal valleys and lower 80s inland with night and morning low clouds near the coast and generally clear skies inland.
