The Templeton High girls volleyball team continued its historic season with a 3-1 win at San Dimas in the second round of the CIF playoffs.
The Eagles improved to 16-3 overall after winning 25-17, 15-25, 25-17 and 25-22 to move on to Saturday's third round. They'll host top seeded St. Margaret's, which swept Gabrielino.
Carly Roth led the Eagles with 15 kills and 2 blocks. Heather Fields added 10 kills and 9 digs. Autumn Russell chipped in 9 kills. Sydney Roth dished out 31 assists and had 4 aces. Lindsey Wyatt had 12 digs to lead Templeton to go with 35 passes off serves.
Templeton is coming off its first-ever Los Padres League title and is in the quarterfinals of CIF for the first time in recent memory.
The Nipomo High girls volleyball team lost 3-0 in a CIF Division 3A second round match at Crean Lutheran near Irvine. The Titans fell 16-25, 23-25 and 22-25 to finish their season 18-9 overall under first year head coach David Cassidy.
The Titans struggled out of the gates and battled the rest of the way.
Paige Waymire led the Titans with 15 kills, while Taylor Nevitt added 7 kills. Cristina Ozzimo had 4 aces, 2 kills, 24 assists and 3 digs. Sarah Stahl had 14 digs to lead Nipomo, which had finished second in the Los Padres League during the regular season.
