The Templeton baseball stayed undefeated this season with two wins during the opening day of the Atascadero High Easter Tournament.
The Eagles overcame a 2-0 deficit with a nine run 6th inning to beat Santa Ynez 9-2. Mac Lardner earned the win with 6 solid innings. He allowed just 1 earned run and scattered 4 hits.
Michael Frigon led Templeton with a 3 for 4 effort at the plate with a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases. Tyrus Yamagata was 2 for 3 with two doubles, while Andy Garretson and Justin Syracuse added 2 hits each.
Templeton collected 16 hits in a 14-1 win over Rim of the World. Garretson threw 5 innings of 2 hit ball. Spencer Walsh went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and 5 RBI. Yamagata doubled and had 3 RBI, while Frigon added 2 more hits and scored twice. Templeton is now 9-0 for the season.
Also on Monday, Nipomo beat the host Greyhounds 10-3 behind a complete game effort from Robby Cano.
The three day tournament continues on Tuesday.
