Templeton hands Nipomo first loss of season, gains sole possession of first in LPL

The Templeton High girls volleyball team pulled out a grueling four set match at Nipomo in a Los Padres League showdown on Tuesday night. The Eagles won 25-23, 23-25, 25-23 and 25-18 to improve to 4-0 in league play. They handed the Titans their first loss of the season as Nipomo fell to 2-1 in LPL action and 8-1 overall.

Heather Fields led the Eagles with 23 kills, Carly Watt tallied 15 kills, while Autumn Russell tallied 12 kills. Sydney Roth dished out 50 assists to go with 6 aces and 12 digs. Lindsey Watt led the Eagles with 41 digs and 30 good service passes.

The Titans were led by reigning California MaxPreps Player of the week Paige Waymire, who registered 27 kills. Kiara Worth added 5 kills. Sarah Stahl recorded 53 digs, while Cristina Ozzimo was credited with 43 assists.

The Titans started the week ranked #4 in Division 3A in CIF, while the Eagles were listed among the other teams receiving votes just outside of the top ten.
