People gathered at Rotta Winery in Templeton Sunday, for a benefit barbeque.
The party was in memory of Jake Keller, a 20-year-old Paso Robles man who was hit by an alleged drunk driver back on October 3rd.
"We have a lot of older people coming who really care for Jake and Jake's family," Lauren Kuhlemann, a family friend said. "We have a lot of younger people coming (too), which is really exciting. That means that we've got into each of their heads about drinking and driving and wearing your seat belt."
Officers say that Keller was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Money from the barbeque lunch will be split between Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and the Culinary Arts Academy, Keller's alma mater. Rotta Winery also donated 25 percent of the revenue from Sunday's wine sales to Mother's Against Drunk Driving.
