The six-time defending Los Padres League champion Santa Ynez girls volleyball team won a five set thriller over visiting Templeton on Tuesday in both teams' league finales. However, the Eagles still left with the program's first-ever LPL outright title thanks to Cabrillo's win over second place Nipomo.
The Pirates won 27-25, 24-26, 25-14, 10-25 and 15-12 to improve to 9-3 in LPL play. The Eagles fell to 10-2 in league matches.
