Templeton, Nipomo sweep headed into Thursday's LPL showdown

The Nipomo and Templeton High girls volleyball teams remain on a collision course for the Los Padres League title on Thursday. The Eagles and Titans both swept their league matches on Tuesday night.

Templeton swept Santa Maria 25-14, 25-10 and 25-16 to improve to 9-0 in league and 12-1 overall. Heather Fields led the Eagles with 10 kills, while Zoe Bond had 6 and Lauren Spencer had 3 to go with 6 aces. Sydney Roth was credited with 34 assists.

Nipomo swept Morro Bay 25-7, 25-18 and 25-22 to improve to 8-1 in league play. Paige Waymire led the Titans with 18 kills and 6 aces. Cristina Ozzimo had 4 kills and 31 assists, while Taylor Nevitt had 5 aces and 6 kills. Sarah Stahl led Nipomo with 13 digs.

Templeton, which handed Nipomo its only league loss of the season, host the Titans on senior night on Thursday. A win for the Eagles would clinch at least a share of their first-ever LPL title with two league matches to go.
