Templeton senior Connor Truhitte will continue his football career at the University of La Verne. The Division-3 school is 35 miles east of Los Angeles.
Truhitte played running back and outside linebacker in his senior season with the Eagles. He rushed 86 times for 668 yards (7.8 yards per carry) and 7 touchdowns. Truhitte also caught 10 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Defensively he had 45 tackles and 6 sacks during the Eagles 7-4 season.
La Verne went 4-5 last year. Truhitte expects to play on the defensive side of the ball for the Leapords, "like a hybrid linebacker, safety position" said Truhitte.
Truhitte signed his letter of intent to La Verne on Monday at Templeton High School in front of family, friends and former coaches. "It's really important to me, it's a big deal. I'm just happy I can share this moment with my family and my friends and coaches and all the people that have helped me" said Truhitte.
