Paso Robles hit 101 degrees Monday and one thermometer in Atascadero hit 105. With high pressure firmly in control of inland areas we'll see more such readings through mid week with only slight cooling into the weekend.

Beaches were dramatically cooler thanks to marine layer, we will see more night and morning clouds over the next few days which will function as free air conditioning for the beaches and near coastal valleys.

All of that is explained in Dave Hovde's video forecast, he also talks about some shocking heat numbers released about the rest of the country today by NOAA.
