Texas Hold 'Em Tournament raises money for kids' activities

People in San Luis Obispo will be shuffling cards and stacking poker chips Saturday to raise money for extra curricular activities for kids.

It's all part of the San Luis Obispo Police Officer's Association Scholarship Fund. There is a dinner and Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Greengate Ranch Road in San Luis Obispo.

"The activities themselves are going to be in support of academics, athletics, the arts, anything that you can use your imagination for that, you know, supports children," said Russell Griffith, of the San Luis Obispo Police Officer's Association.

The goal is to raise money for athletics, the arts, and academics by offering tuition for special programs.

Every donation to the scholarship fund is tax-deductible.
