The name of the family who adopted "Annie" the dog was accidentally released by the San Luis Obispo County Counsel's office.
For two months, Chuck Hoage has been trying to get the Australian Shepherd back.
She ran away and when Hoage went to pick her up from the shelter, the pup had already been adopted.
The new family won't give Annie back.
Hoage has gotten a lot of community support and one supporter filed a Public Records Act Request for the adoptive family's name.
Warren Jensen, San Luis Obispo County Counsel, said, "It was clearly an accident. We sent out a cover letter explaining that we were not disclosing that information. Unfortunately, the person that did the redaction did not catch every single occurrence of the name."
Hoage did confirm to KSBY News that he does have that information but is not releasing it.
