The third smallest baby ever born is doing well at a hospital in Los Angeles.

Her name is Melinda Star Guido. When she was born on August 30th she was 16-weeks early and weighed a little more than a half of a pound.

Doctors at the Neonatal Section at USC Medical Center said she is "growing and thriving."

According to figures from the Global Birth Registry, Melinda is the third smallest baby ever born, weighing less than a can of soda and roughly the same as two iPhones.

The little bundle of joy is now tipping the scale at a hefty 4.12 pounds.

She was actually due to be born on December 15.
