An amber alert is still in effect for 16-year-old Eunice Serrato who went missing from her home.
According to the Monterey County Sheriff's department one person has turned themselves over to deputies and a third person of interest.
An Amber Alert was issued for the teen after her parents came home and found that two people had been murdered in their home and their daughter was missing.
Deputies were looking for Juan Salazar Jr. and his father Juan Salazar Sr. in connection with the murder and the kidnapping. Serrato's parents said that their daughter was dating Salazar jr.
Sunday night Salazar Sr. turned himself over to deputies but is currently not in custody. However deputies say a third person, Rogelio Aviles, 21, is now believed to be a person of interest in the case.
Aviles drives a tan 2007 Honda Civic with the licence plate number of 6JUK098.
Deputies believe that the girl is being held against her will and are believed to be heading south towards Mexico. Sometime after she disappeared her parents say they received a phone call from the girl saying that she was safe.
The investigation in this case actively continues and anyone with information regarding the case is urged to call the Monterey County Sheriff's Office at 755-3772 or the TIP line at 888-833-4847.
