KSBY's own John Reger and Jeanette Trompeter helped out at this year's Thanksgiving Dinner at the Pismo Beach Vets Hall.

They joined more than 100 volunteers Wednesday to serve up thousands of meals, complete with all the fixings.

The event is now in its 27th year. Food and monetary donations from residents and local businesses make it all possible.

"From 7-Eleven who does the full coffee bar, all the way down to Food 4 Less who gives us the turkeys at cost, I mean it's on and on we can't thank the community enough and we just, we love this day," said Jake Miller of the Pismo Beach Police Department.

The annual event provides meals for about 3,000 people.
