Three Central Coast softball players, who've already been named All-CIF, added another postseason accolade this week. Cal-Hi Sports released its 31st annual All-State Teams for softball.
Righetti High's Katie Chenault was one of thirty players from Division III programs named to the All-State First Team for Medium Sized Schools.
The recent graduate led the Warriors to the outright Pac 7 League title and the program's first CIF championship since 1982. Chenault was named to the All-State Team as a multi-purpose player. She hit .357 at the plate with 5 home runs and 25 RBI. Chenault was dominant in the circle posting a 24-5 record with an 1.08 ERA. She struck out 288 in 175 2/3 innings. She allowed just 93 hits on the season.
Two Nipomo High stars earned All-State recognition for Small Schools, which included Division IV and V programs.
Penn recruit Courtney Cuzick was a First Team pick for pitchers. She went 18-6 with 267 strikeouts in 152 innings. Cuzick posted a 0.69 ERA and allowed just 90 hits.
Ashley Ruiz was a Second Team pick. The infielder hit .453 with 20 runs and 17 RBI her junior season. The Titans finished second in the Los Padres League and advanced to the quarterfinals of CIF.
