Santa Maria detectives arrested three people Thursday after serving a narcotics search warrant on a wanted gang member.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Broadway.
Detectives from the Santa Maria Police Department Gang Suppression Team, detectives from the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Gang Task Force, and the Santa Maria police SWAT team worked together to serve the narcotics search warrant.
Police say Dustin Louis Palmer, 29, attempted to run away when the search warrant was served. A Santa Maria Police Department K-9 stopped him. He was arrested and could be charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of heroin for sale, possession of cocaine for sale, possession of a loaded firearm, a criminal street gang enhancement, and resisting arrest. Police say they seized $3,200 worth of drugs.
Police also arrested Kara Jeffords, 30. She faces charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Alicia Starnes, 35, was arrested. She could be charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
All three live in San Luis Obispo County.
Jeffords and Starnes were cited and released.
Palmer was booked in the Santa Barbara County Jail.
