San Luis Obispo Police Officers arrest three men accused of beating and robbing two Cal Poly students over night.
Officers say just before 2:20 a.m. this morning, they responded to a reported strong-armed robbery near the recreation center on the Cal Poly Campus. They say a 21-year-old Cal Poly student was beaten by multiple suspects, and then had property stolen from him. Witnesses saw the suspects leaving in a green Dodge truck.
Then minutes later, a second report of a strong-armed robbery came in near the 300 block of Longview, not far from the first robbery. A 22-year-old Cal Poly student was also beaten, and had property stolen as well.
Officers on patrol witnessed an assault just after 2:35 a.m. near the intersection of Santa Rose and Walnut Streets. Three men, Steven Medina, 23 of Arroyo Grande, Alejandro Ambriz, 23 of Tulare, and Moses Peralta, 22 and also of Tulare, were all arrested in the assault. Police then determined all three men were responsible for the other attacks when they found stolen property belonging to the victims in a green Doge truck near by.
All three suspects are being held in county jail. Peralta and Medina were booked on two counts of robbery, one count of battery and one county of possession of stolen property. Ambriz was booked on the same, with the exception of battery. All three are being held on $80,000 bail.
