Three people were taken to the hospital Friday after a car accident involving three cars.
It happened just after 9 p.m. Police say 23-year-old Julio Padilla of Los Osos was driving southbound on South Bay Boulevard in Los Osos when he hit another vehicle.
According to police reports, Padilla didn't notice that the vehicle ahead of him had stopped at a red light. Padilla rear ended the vehicle, and that vehicle was pushed into another vehicle.
Police say Padilla was driving under the influence and was arrested.
One of the drivers, 20-year-old Stacy Gallardo of Los Osos, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. Her passenger, 18-year-old Wendy Gallardo, was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. A four month old in the back of her car was flown to Children's Hospital of the Central Valley with major injuries.
The other driver, 32-year-old Jeffre Sterkel of Los Osos, had no injuries.
